This lazulite is from the Graves Mountain Mine in Lincoln County, Georgia. This was a kyanite mine that also contained over two dozen different minerals. It is most famous for the world class rutile specimens and the large lazulite crystals found there. Lazulite is a phosphate that contains the elements Mg, Fe, Al, P, O and H. This is a cluster of large interpenetrating crystals of lazulite with some oxide stained mica attached. It measures 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 1 inches or 45 x 32 x 25 mm.
