Description
This labradorite has been cut, polished, and oriented on the display side to show the maximum iridescence. Labradorite is a type of feldspar that has an iridescent gem quality called a Schiller effect. It is similar to the iridescence found in moonstone and opal. The display side of this piece has been polished to a gem luster while the rear is natural (photo 3). The base has been cut so it stands freely. It measures 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches or 90 x 70 x 45 mm.
