This fluorite its from the Stoneco Auglaize Quarry in Junction, Paulding County, Ohio, USA. This locale contains six different minerals including fluorite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. The Auglaize Quarry is famous for the unique, iridescent, fluorite crystals found there. This specimen consists of a matrix with a vug like depression that holds and protects a carpet of fluorite crystals. The crystals are cubic, translucent to transparent, dark to light brown, and they have a rainbow iridescence. This piece measures 2 x 1 11/16 x 1 inches or 50 x 43 x 25 mm.
