This topaz is from Ouro Preto in the Iron Quadrangle of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This source is reportedly exhausted and topaz is no longer being found. It is a silicate and it contains the elements Al, Si, O, F, and H. It can be found in a variety of colors which are created by different trace impurities in the crystal lattice. The best Imperial topaz has a salmon color. This crystal has a orange color. This crystal is terminated transparent and has a glass luster. It measures 30 x 12 x 8 and it weighs 33 carats.
