This hydroxylherderite crystal is from Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This area is in the Aimores Pegmatite District and many outstanding mineral and mineral specimens are found there including hydroxyherderite. It is a phosphate that contains the elements Ca, Be, P O, F and H. This is a complex crystal with terminated surfaces on all sides. It appears to be a floater with either prismatic or altered (healed) surfaces on all sides. It is translucent crystal with a vitreous luster. It measures 16 x 16 x 9 mm.
