This hemimorphite is from the Wenshaw Mine, Wenshaw Co. Wenshaw Prefecture, Yunnan Province China. This is a lead mine with four different mineral species including hemimorphite. It is a silicate    that contains the elements Zn Si, O and H. This specimen consists of a mixed crystalline hemorphihite and breccia matrix that is covered and cemented with brilliant blue hemimorphite crystals. The crystals are deposited in rolling botryoidal-like formations and have a somewhat chatoyant quality. This piece measures 8 x 4 1/4 x 4 3/8 inches.
