These hemimorphite crystals are from Santa Eulalia in the Municipio. de Aquiles Serdan, Chihuahua, Mexico. This district encompasses a large area that contains over a dozen mines. Mining activities are primarily for the extraction of silver and other metals. There a over 150 different types of minerals in the district including hemimorphite.This specimen consists of a accicular, mound-like formations of hemimorphite crystals. They have a unique blue color with faint black oxide highlights and a glistening like luster. This piece measures 2 1/4 x 1 x 7/8 inches or 57 x 25 x 22 mm.
