Description
This hematite is from Jinlong Hill in Longchuan County, Heyuan Prefecture, Guangdong Province of China. This is a small locale that is mined by the locals for the recovery of hematite and quartz pieces. Hematite comes in a variety of forms including lamellae formations. This specimen consists of tabular crystal rosettes of lamellae hematite crystals at the base of a cluster of quartz crystals. The quartz crystals are scepters. Small quartz crystals are scattered about the hematite. This piece measures 2 x 2 x 1 3/4 inches or 50 x 50 x 45 mm.
