Description
These helvite crystals are from the Navegadora Mine in Penha do Norte, Conselhiero Pena, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This claim contains 11 different mineral species including helvite. It is a silicate that contains the elements Be, Mn, Si, O and S. This is a stacked cluster of interpenetrating, tetragonal helvite crystals on a minor feldspar matrix. They are complex with hoppered tetragonal surfaces. They display from all sides and vary from brown to brown/green to a golden color. This piece measures 18 x 17 x 10 mm.
