This fluorapophyllite, on stilbite, is from the Poone District in the Maharastra State of India. Many stunning mineral species are recovered in the basalt and other igneous deposits in the area. Mineral crystals can be found in vesicles and vugs within the deposits. There are 33 reported minerals in the area including apophyllite and stilbite. Fluorpophyllite is in the phyllosilicate mineral class and it contains the elements K, Na, Ca, Si, O, F, and H. Stilbite is a zeolite and contains the elements Na, Ca, Si, Al, O and H. This is an aesthetic cluster of translucent to transparent green fluorapophyllites with stilbite and apophyllite crystals. The color is rich and the luster is vitreous. This piece measures 3 1/2 x 2 x 1 1/8 inches or 89 x 51 x 28 mm.
