Description
These goethite pseudomorphs are from the Farafra Oasis in the White Desert, New Valley, Gouvernorate, Egypt. This locale contains 4 mineral species including goethite. It is an iron oxide that contains the elements Fe and O. This specimen consists of a well defined goethite replacement of a marcasite crystal stalactite. It is a 360 degree floater type piece with terminated crystals on all sides. It measures 2 1/8 x 13/16 x 3/4 inches or 53 x 21 x 19 mm.
