Description

These galena spinel twins are from the Fletcher Mine, West Fork, Viburnum Mining District, Reynolds County, Missouri, USA. The trend covers an area of approximately 240 square miles. It consists of eight ore bodies that contained dozens of mines including the Flethcher Mine. It contained 24 different minerals including galena. It is a sulfide containing the elements Pb, and S. This piece is composed of a combination of a primary spinel twinned galena crystal with dolomite and secondary spinel twinned crystals attached. It is good from both sides and the bottom is a former attachment point. This piece measures 1 9/16 x 1 1/8 x 13/16 inches or 39 x 28 x 20 mm.
