These galena crystals are from the Sweetwater Mine, Ellington, Viburnum Trend District, Reynolds County, Missouri, USA. The trend covers an area of approximately 240 square miles. It consists of eight ore bodies that contain 23 different mineral species including galena. It is a sulfide containing the elements Pb, and S.This specimen consists of a dolomite crystal covered chert matrix that hosts complex and twinned cuboctahedral galena crystals. This piece measures 4 1/8 x 2 1/4 x 2 inches or 104 x 57 x 50 mm.
