These galena crystals are from the Buick Mine in Bixby, Viburnum Trend District, Iron County, Missouri. This mine contains 22 different mineral species including the sulfide galena. Galena contains the elements Pb and S. This specimen is made up of galena crystals that have spinel twinned habits. They have a steel-grey color and matte to sub-vitreous luster. There are minor deposits of dolomite crystals on some surfaces.The piece displays well from all sides. It measures 7/8 x 13/16 x 13/16 inches or 22 x 20 x 20 mm.
