Description
These galena crystals are from the Sweetwater Mine, Ellington, Viburnum Trend District, Reynolds County, Missouri, USA. The trend covers an area of approximately 240 square miles. It consists of eight ore bodies that contain 23 different mineral species including galena. It is a sulfide containing the elements Pb, and S.This specimen consists of a complex and twinned cuboctahedral galena crystal with some minor dolomite on one edge. All the crystals including those along the perimeter of the piece are all intact and complete. This piece measures 1 5/8 x1 3/8 x 1 1/8 inches or 41 x 35 x 28 mm.
