This galena is from the Elmwood Mine in Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee, Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Tennessee, US. This mine contains three shafts called the Elmwood, Cumberland, and Gordonsville. It has an entry slope called the Stonewall. They contain eleven different minerals including galena which is a secondary ore mineral. This piece consists of a pair of interpenetrating complex crystals that host several small calcite crystals.This piece measures approximately 1 1/4 x 15/16 x 15/16 inches or 32 x 24 x 24 mm.
