Description
This fluorite is from the Xianghualing Mine in Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field, Linwu County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province China. This mine that contains 67 different minerals including fluorite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. This specimen is a double sided plate of sea green octahedral fluorite crystals. They are translucent (photo 6 lighted from behind) and have well defined habits with complex terminations. It is a large cabinet sized piece measuring 7 1/2 x 6 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches or 190 x 162 x 60 mm.
