This fluorites with sphalerites is from the Elmwood Mine in Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee, Ba-F-Pb-Zn District, Tennessee, US. This mine contains three shafts called the Elmwood, Cumberland, and Gordonsville. It has an entry slope called the Stonewall. They contain eleven different minerals including fluorite. It is a common gangue mineral associated with the sphalerite which is a sulfide (Zn and S) and the primary ore at the mine. This specimen consists of a chert matrix that hosts a cubic fluorite, red sphalerites and some dolomite crystals on the display side. This piece measures 2 3/4 x 1 5/8 x 1 3/8 inches or 70 x 41 x 35 mm.
