This fluorite is from Chumar Bakhoor in the Gilgit District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. This area is large that encompasses many square miles that contain dozens of diggings and prospects containing many mineral species including fluorite. It is a halide mineral that contains the elements Ca and F. It is found in a variety of colors and pink is considered the rarest. This piece consists of a mica crystal matrix that is topped with an pale or faint pink octahedral crystal of fluorite. It measures 2 x 1 1/2 x 1 inches or 50 x 38 x 25 mm.
