Description
This fluorite crystal is from the Huanggang Fe-Sn deposit in the Hexigten Banner, Chifeng City (Ulanhad League), Inner Mongolia, China. This tin-iron deposit contains over 60 different mineral species including many different types of fluorite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. This specimen is an example of both a rare color and rare morphology in fluorite. This fluorite crystal is bi-pyramidal and pink with inclusions of green bysollite and minor arsenopyrite ( dark spots). There is one small former attachment point (bottom rear as displayed in photo1) which has a healed surface,as shown in photo 5. The prism faces are complex with frosty surfaces.This piece measures approximately 33 mm tip to tip in all directions and 24 mm on edge.
