Description
These fluorite crystals are from the De’an fluorite mine in Wushan, De’an County, Jiujiang, Jiangxi, China. It is reported that over 300 different minerals are found at this locale and it is probably best known for the octahedral purple and green fluorites like these. Fluorite is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. It is commonly found with cubic morphologies and octahedrons are uncommon. This piece consists of a thin quartz and fluorite plate that is topped with green and purple crystals. It measures 5 x 4 x 2 inches or 127 x 102 x 50 mm.
