This fluorite crystal cluster is from Naica Mine in Naica, Mum.de Saucillo. Chihuahua, Mexico. This area consists of mineralized sills and dykes that contain over 95 different minerals. Over one dozen mines have exploited the deposits in the past but now most are incorporated into the Naica Mine. The ores processed in the mine are primarily for the recovery of gold, silver and other metals. A variety of gangue mineral specimens are also found there including outstanding fluorite specimens like this.The crystals have a well defined modified cubic morphology with sharp corners and edges. The crystals are transparent and the crystal faces have a bright vitreous luster. This piece measures 2 x 1 5/8 x 1 3/4 inches or 50 x 41 x 45 mm.
