Description
This fluorite is from the Moscona Mine, Solis, Covera de Austrias Villabona mining area, Asturias, Spain. This mine contains 15 different mineral species and is most famous for the fluorite specimen from there. Fluorite is a halide containing the elements Ca and F. This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that is covered with fluorite crystals and druse pyrite. The fluorites have have a pale yellow beige color and a glass luster. The crystals are translucent to transparent. This piece measures 5 x 3 x 2 inches or 127 x 76 x 50 mm.
