Description
This fluorite is from the Huangshaping Mine at the Pb-Zn-W-Mo Deposit, Gulyang County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province China. This is a beryllium mine that contains 24 different minerals including fluorite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. This specimen consists of a plate-like formation of green translucent to transparent fluorite crystals. The crystals have a modified cubic morphology with stair step prism faces. They have an exceptional glass luster. They display nicely from several angles.This piece measures 5 5/8 x 4 1 4 x 2 3/4 inches or 143 x 118 x 70 mm.
