This fluorite is from the Denton Mine in the Goose Creek Mine Group, Harris Creek Sub-District, Kentucky Fluorspar District, Cave In Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA.Seven different minerals have been identified at this mine including fluorite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. This is a piece of blue fluorite is healed on all surfaces except the display side which has a stair-step surface and a blue color with with violet phantoms. It is translucent to transparent with a vitreous luster and some minor chalcopyrites. It measures 3 1/4 x 2 1/8 x 2 1/4 inches or 82 x 53 x 57 mm.
