Description
This fluorite is from Clay Center in Ottawa County Ohio, USA, The the quarries in this area are mined for aggregates and industrial grades of anhydrite and gypsum. There are over one dozen different mineral species associated with the mining including fluorite. This piece consists of a sawed marl matrix that hosts cubic fluorite crystals that have a unique golden bronze colored iridescence. It measures 1 1/2 x 1 7/16 x 1 1/16 inches or 38 x 37 x 26 mm.
