This fluorite is from the Denton Mine in the Goose Creek Mine Group, Harris Creek Sub-District, Kentucky Fluorspar District, Cave In Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA.Seven different minerals have been identified at this mine including fluorite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca and F. This is a piece of blue Fluorite healed on all surfaces except the display side which has a stair-step surface with violet phantoms. It is transluscent to transparent with a vitreous luster and some minor chalcopyrites. It measures 2 5/8 x 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 inches or 6.7 x 5.8 x 3.2 cm.
