Description
These large ferberite crystals are from the Panasqueira mines locale in Covilha, Castelo Branco District, This is a large tin-tungstun mine that contains 87 different minerals. It is famous for the many outstanding mineral specimens found there including its ferberite that was originally labeled as wolframite. The crystals are large and well defined for the species. This piece is a vee shaped formation made up of large lustrous ferberite crystals with associated pyrite and dolomite crystals. It measures 3 x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches or 76 x 64 x 38 mm.
