This epidote is from Maldeen in the Ras Koh Mountains in the Kharan District, Balochistan, Pakistan. This locale contains large veins of crystalline epidote that contain vugs and exposed veins filled with crystals. Epidote is a silicate that contains the elements Ca, Al, Fe, Si, O and H. This specimen consists of central, large, hexagonal crystal that hosts clusters of smaller tabular crystals. There luster varies from bright vitreous to chatoyant depending on their orientation to the light source. It is terminated all around and can be displayed from all sides. It measures 2 1/2 x 2 x 1 3/16 inches or 64 x 50 x 31 mm.
