Description
These epidote crystals are from the Kayes Region of Mali. Areas of this region have been prolific producers of these mineral specimens, for collection, off and on for years. Diggings and small mines are operated by locale communes and villages. Epidote is a silicate containing the elements Ca, Al, Fe, Si O and H.. This specimen consists of dozens of blocky dark green epidote crystals in a cluster with terminated crystals on all sides. This piece measures 2 1/16 x 1 5/8 x 1 1/4 inches or 51 x 41 x 32 mm
