Description
This epidote is from the Pampa Blanca District, Castroverreyn Province, Huancavelica, Peru This encompasses a large area that contains seven recognized mineral species. It is most famous for the occasional epidote crystal clusters found there. Epidote is a silicate that contains the elements Ca, Fe, Al, Si , O and H. This is an exceptional specimen that consists of a fan-like cluster of elongated and blade-like crystals of epidote. They are dark green with a bright vitreous luster and complex terminations. There is some druse feldspar scattered about one side of the piece. This piece measures 2 5/8 x 1 3/4 x 1 1/8 inches or 66 x 45 x 28 mm
