Description
These epidote crystals are from Capelinha, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This area contains 12 known mineral species including the silicate epidote which contains the elements Ca, Al, Fe, Si O and H. This piece is a cluster of large double terminated epidote crystals that form a rosette or star-like formation. They have columnar to blade-like habits, a dark green to olive color and a vitreous luster. This piece measures 2 1/2 x 1 5/8 x 1 1/8 inches or 64 x 41 x 28 mm.
