These crystals are in the eosphorite/childrenite series of minerals. They are from Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This area is in the Aimores Pegmatite District and many outstanding minerals and mineral specimens are recovered and sold on the worldwide market. The famous Corrego Frio Mine, which is the type locale for brazilianite, is located here. This specimen is a extremely large representation of a childrenite or eophorite after childrenite crystal. The two minerals are phosphates that contain the elements Al, P, O and H Childrenite also contains Fe and eosphorite contains Mn. This piece consists of a primary crystal that is 1 1/2 inches tall. It hosts a smaller cluster of crystals and a single mica book. The crystals have a matte luster. The piece measures 1 1/2 x 1 3/8 x 7/8 inches or 38 x 35 x 22 mm.
