This eosphorite is from Linopolis, Divino das Laranjeiras, Doce Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This area is in the Aimores Pegmatite District and it contains dozens of mines in which 151 different minerals can be found. The famous Corrego Frio Mine, which is the type locale for brazilianite, is located here also. Childrenite may be found in association with brazilianite and other minerals in phosphate rich pegmatites. It is a phosphate, analogue of childrenite, and it contains the elements Mn, Al, P, O and H. This specimen consists of interpenetrating radiating clusters of eosphorite crystals. The eosphorite are accompanied by apatite, cleavelandite and quartz crystals. This piece measures 5/8 x 7/16 x 3/8 inches or 15 x 11 x 9 mm
