This elbaite is from the Golganda Pegmatite Field in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This location contains over one dozen mines that contain 18 different minerals. It was originally mined for mica but in recent years it is mined for gemstones and various pegmatite mineral specimens for collectors. This specimen consists of a vee formation of two elbaite tourmalines that hosts a small hydroxylherdite fishtail twinned crystal at the base. . This piece measures 34 x 17 x 8 mm. It weighs 3.8 grams
