Description

This dolomite is from the Cottonwood Draw near Roswell, area of alleged UFO activity, Chaves County, New Mexico, USA. It is a dolomite crystal pseudomorph that has replaced a star-like cluster of aragonite crystals.Both Minerals are carbonites. Dolomite contains the elements Ca, Mg, C and O while aragonite contains the elements Ca, C and O. This specimen is a well defined pseudomorph of a large aragonite crystal that has been replaced by dolomite crystals. It is terminated and intact front rear and perimeter. This piece measures 2 x 1 7/8 x 1 inches or 50 x 47 x 26 mm.
