Description
These dioptase crystals are from the Mindouli District, Pool Department, Republic of the Congo. The District contains about a dozen different mines that contained 31 different minerals including the copper silicate dioptase. This piece consists of a mostly quartz matrix that contains a deposit of emerald green dioptase crystals up to 8 mm in size. This piece measures 3 x 2 1/8 x 1 5/8 inches or 76 x 53 x 41 mm.
