Description
These dioptase crystals are from the Altyn-Tyube Deposit, Bukhar-Zhyrau , Karaganda Region, Kazakhstan. This deposit has been worked for copper since ancient times and it contains 8 different minerals including its world famous dioptase specimens. This piece consists of a quartz matrix that is covered on the display side with crystals from druse size to 3 mm. It is a large piece that measures 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 x 1 1/4 inches or 96 x 70 x 32 mm.
