This cuprite crystal cluster is from the Rubtsovskoe Cu-Zn-Pb deposit, Rudnyi Altai, Altaisskii Krai, Western-Siberian Region, Russia. This deposit contains 60 different mineral species including the copper oxide cuprite. This specimen consists of a cluster of large interpenetrationg bipyramidal cuprite crystals based on a mound-like cluster of smaller crystals. They have a reddish-silver color and metallic luster. The largest crystal is approximately 20 mm across. This piece measures 1 5/8 x 1 3/8 x 1 3/16 inches or 41 x 35 x 33 mm.
