This piece is from the Henderson No. 2 mine in Jamesie, Nord-du-Quebec, Quebec, Canada. This is a Copper-Gold mine that contains 12 different mineral species including cubanite. Cubanite is an uncommon sulfide that contains the elements Cu, Fe and S.and this locale is famous for the large twinned crystals found there. This piece consists of a calcite crystal covered quartz matrix that hosts several cubanite crystals including a striated twinned crystal that is aesthetically located on the piece.This piece measures 2 5/8 x 1 5/8 x 7/8 inches or 68 x 41 x 22 mm. The primary crystal measures approximately 10 mm across.
