This creedite is from the Navida Mine in Absolo, Mun. de Rodeo, Durango, Mexico. This is a fluorite mine that contains 16 different types of minerals including creedite. The veins in the mine contain vugs and voids that can contain 16 different minerals including creedite. It is a halide that contains the elements Ca, Al, S, O, H, and F. This specimen consists of two radiating clusters of creedite mixed with a breccia fluorite matrix.. The crystals are transparent, glassy, and are partially covered with bright orange and black colors which are caused by iron and manganese oxides. The crystals are pristine, terminated and free from dings or bruises. The former attachment point is at the base. This piece measures 2 1/2 x 2 x 1 5/8 inches or 64 x 50 x 41 mm
