Copper Crystal Cluster with Spinel Twinning – Chino Mine

These native copper crystal spinel twins are from the Chino Mine in Santa Rita, Grant County, New Mexico, USA. They are from the 2006 find by Stan Esbenshade. He found a boulder that had some partially exposed crystals and then carefully leached and trimmed hundreds of copper specimens from it. The most famous pieces were coppers with spinel twinned habits This is a world class specimen that consists of clusters of complex multi-terminated spinel twins. The twins host elongated and hoppered crystals. All sides of the piece are terminated and intact with excellent crystals on all surfaces. This piece measures 1 1/2 x 5/8 x 7/16 inches or 38 x 16 x 11 mm.
