Copper – Double Terminated Spinel Twinned Crystals – Chino Mine

This copper crystal spinel twin formation is from the Chino Mine in Santa Rita, Grant County, New Mexico, USA. They are from the 2006 find by Stan Esbenshade. He found a boulder that had some partially exposed crystals and then carefully leached and trimmed hundreds of copper specimens from it. The most famous pieces were the coppers with spinel twinned habits like this one. It is a well defined crystal that can be displayed from all sides. It is a classic example of a double terminated spinel law twinned copper crystal formation with secondary crystals attached. It is a small miniature that measures  26 x 11 x 10 mm.
