This native copper is from the Central Mine in Central, Keweenaw County of Michigan, USA. Mining for copper in the Upper Peninsular of Michigan began thousands of years ago by the indigenous people. There were over a hundred commercial mines starting in the 1800’s. This piece consists of several crude and well defined copper crystals. It is a miniature that measures 1 1/2 x 15/16 x 5/8 inches or 38 x 24 x 16 mm.
