This native copper specimen is from the Corocoro Copper mining District in the Pacajes Province, La Paz Department, Bolivia. Thirteen different mines have operated in the district and they contain 28 different minerals but copper and copper ores are the primary commodity. This piece is an excellent fan-like formation or arborescent formation of copper crystals. The piece more than likely formed within a crack like void in the mother rock. It is a large cabinet sized piece that measures 5 x 3 x 1/4 inches or 128 x 76 x 6 mm.
