This native copper crystal spinel twin is from the Chino Mine in Santa Rita, Grant County, New Mexico, USA. They are from the 2006 find by Stan Esbenshade. He found a boulder that had some partially exposed crystals and then carefully leached and trimmed hundreds of copper specimens from it. The most famous pieces were the coppers with spinel twinned habits like this one. It is a well defined crystal floater that can be displayed from all sides. It is a classic example of a double terminated spinel law twinned copper crystal.with secondary crystal growth. The piece measures 2 1/4 x 1 x 1/2 inches or 57 x 25 x 12 mm.
