Description
This cobaltoan dolomite is from the Mashamba West Mine in the Kolwezi District, Lualaba, DR Congo. This is an interesting piece that consists of large rhombohedral crystals assumed to be dolomite (possibly calcite?) that have been replaced by cobaltoan dolomite (Ca, Mg, C, O, H trace Co). The large crystals host deposits of conichalcite and malachite pseudomorphs of azurite. It measures 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 1 1/16 inches or 46 x 32 x 26 mm
