Description
These cobaltoan dolomite crystals are from the Aghbar Mine in Aghbar, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Draa-Tifilalet Region, Morocco. This mixed metals mine contains over 45 different mineral species including the cobalt rich variety of dolomite referred to as cobaltoan dolomite. It is a carbonate that contains the elements C, Ca, Co, Mg and O. This piece consists of remnant tuff-like matrix that is covered with a mound of pink rhombic crystals. This piece measures 1 7/8 x 1 9/16 x 1 3/16 inches or 47 x 39 x 29 mm.
