Description
This citrine crystal is from the Mansa District in the Luapula Province of Zambia. This material is mined in an open-pit type operation and it is noted that only quartz, variety citrine, is found there. This crystal is typical for the locale. It has an elongated prism and luster that varies from frosty to vitreous. It has a good natural yellow color which is much sort after. It measures approximately 2 1/4 x 9/16 x 7/16 inches or 58 x 14 x 11 mm.
