These cavansite crystal clusters are from the Wagholi Quarries, Wagholi, Pune (Poone) District, Maharastra State, India.This region contains several basalt quarries from which mineral crystal specimens are recovered. The basalt contains vugs and vesicules that can be filled with 9 different mineral species including cavansite. It is a silicate containing the elements Ca, V, O, Si and H. This specimen consists of a basalt matrix that is topped with a layer of white stilbite crystals that host acicular clusters of cavansite crystals. The crystals are bladed, have an electric blue color and are translucent under bright light. it measures 3 1/2 x 3 x 2 5/8 inches or 88 x 76 x 67 mm.
